The Journey Home
...or TJH for short. This story is more of a background story for Vic and a basic introduction to my world. Although the story text has been removed entirely, the chapter summary is remains here.
Vic accidentally enters a portal that transports him from Los Angeles to a snowy realm named Sigma. He also gets mistaken for someone else, another 'Vic' of sorts. In an attempt to return home, he meets various important characters while he stays with Cyril, a man who seems to be very familiar with him (and unknown to him, Cyril was once a very powerful corporate man).
He ends up having to find catalysts (amethyst fragments) in order to power up a portal machine that could send him back to LA. He had to be discreet about it because it turns out that this whole portal and amethyst business was not exactly allowed by the Sigma Government as it was related to magic, and magic was banned in the realm. He also eventually gets proof that he truly was that 'other Vic', that it wasn't a mistake. Ultimately, with Cyril's amethyst, Vic gets to return home to LA – only to realise that Sigma is where he really wants to be. Opportunity presents itself in the form of a rogue portal, and Vic uses it to get back to Sigma. Characters in this story: Vic, Kit Cyril, Simon Alexander, Alex Thatcher, Prof. 'Sage Williams', Iino Tsumura, Byronix, Jayden Lazarus, Thomas Robinson (appeared anonymously), Matsuri, Matthew Metcalfe. |
TJH: RESET
After settling down in Sigma from the beaches of Los Angeles, Vic later decides (with much ado) to join the guys at the Megacorporation whom he knew from before (Sage, Tsumura, Byronix, and a new face: Miller). Vic learns that the team is called the Special Team and gets the hang of the portal machine for 'Sage's portal research. With Vic's involvement, 'Sage' manages to finish his portal research -- only for it to be taken away.
One day, a government man named Aaron takes over the entire Special Team and all its assets, making it part of the Sigma Government (once more). The Special Team is now a revived form of Research and Special Expedition Team (RESET). RESET is a subdivision of the Department of Defence/DoD. Under Aaron's management, RESET's main task is to revisit the Old World, Nexus -- which shows why Vic is a vital component in the team due to his portal immunity. The revisits is to determine if it is now safe for the Immigrants to return to it, and if the DoD can start rolling out the much-awaited Remigration Project. So, Aaron establishes a workflow, a set of updated procedures and Vic & Tsumura add in some of their own input. Using this, Vic and four others revisit Nexus (two government soldiers and two private military subcontractors). The results were not satisfactory as Vic returns injured, one man was eaten, another going insane, and portal side effects needed to be dealt with. Later on, Vic recommended Aaron to hire Jayden before they do another revisit. He was actually doing everyone a favour because Jayden knew many things about Nexus and really has been wanting to go home, while RESET could really use a 'Nexus expert'. Aaron agrees to this. Characters in this story: Vic, Iino Tsumura, Aaron, Jayden Lazarus, Browning, Thompson, Prof. 'Sage Williams', Byronix, Miller, Sam Thatcher. |
TJH: The Remigration Project
Since the previous revisit to Nexus produced not-so-satisfactory results, the Sigma Government (Department of Defence/DoD, to be exact) sends in two of their own top units alongside RESET's Vic, Jayden, and Vic's two favourite PMCs, Thompson and Browning. The team explores the post-apocalyptic Nexus, with focus in Silverya. Now, they return with satisfactory results, what with Maddox being a very thorough team leader.
After some time, the Sigma Government starts The Remigration Project: a mission to return all the Nexus Immigrants home (those whom they saved from Nexus' Great Catastrophe in an event called The Migration). Using Silverya as a place to rebuild civilisation (as it was where the last peak one was), the habitability of the realm is tested out by several government teams (including Maddox's) and volunteers selected for the Project's preliminary/beta phase. Sigma Government keeps their promise and send the Nexus citizens home, batch by batch; and although most of them were eager, some were not as they were now accustomed to Sigma lifestyle. The Nexus camp manages to settle down with the help of the warm Nexus historian, Jayden. The Sigma Government is also logical enough to not send pre-Migration Sigma-born non-humans to Nexus (as that was not part of the deal). In conclusion of the trilogy, Vic has found a place to call home, Tsumura gets to remain in his homeworld, Aaron's hitting homerun with RESET and the Remigration Project, and the Nexus people (especially Jayden) that had to leave home have now returned to it. Of course, Vic still faces a future where he could be stripped of his rights as a person if the government decides to write him off as just a machine. Meanwhile, Maddox is offered a post in the Special Unit. Characters in this story: Vic, Iino Tsumura, Jayden Lazarus, Browning, Thompson, Aaron, Maddox, Silas, Officer Annie, Prof. 'Sage Williams', Byronix, Miller, Satsuma no Ren, Yoichi no Namihei, (Aoi no) Matsuri, Simon Alexander, Thiazi, Augustina Lee, Sindri & Idun Malle (not mentioned). |
The Principality
One day, a mage named Adrià had foreseen a horrible event: the assassination of the realm's Gran Mestre (leader). He tells his best friend, Terenzio who happens to be the Gran Mestre's son. In order to avoid such tragedy, the two must first know who the culprit is, and Adrià seems to be secretive on that. Why? Will they be able to stop the assassination while remaining discreet?
Characters in this story: Adrià, Terenzio Robinson, The Lady, Ethanol, el Gran Mestre Thomas Robinson |
Another Life
The story takes place in one of the Lemniscate's Layers simply referred to as The Intersection. It's basically a place where all characters from all Layers (worlds) coexist.
This slice-of-life focuses on a group of youngsters (one of them being Adrià's son), with themes of friendship, family, and all that... but I haven't a concrete story, only characters and their ties with one another. Characters in this story: Manel, Aoi Shintaro, Sindri Malle, Idun Malle, Rocío, Rosa Peace Meilland, Thiazi, Piht, and 'E' (alongside the others mentioned in TJH and TP) |
